i had always cherished the idea of a large family reunion. the gathering is usually held at my maternal grandmother's house (the only grandparent i have left). relatives would gather during occasions like the Eid'Fitri, Mother's Day and so forth. i was supposed to have a warm feeling to see relatives having a good time together. i always thought that it creates a special bond within the whole family, however, i discovered that i was wrong.

behind close doors, the bond they created was actually full of enmity, deep hatred and pure jealousy. then i realised that it was a hyprocitical act they put up using a plastic smile during those seemingly gatherings.

so actually, "WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF HAVING GATHERINGS?"

is it to strengthen the ties? or is it an opportunity to gossip? to find faults in others while you are actually not even close to being almost perfect...

should we actually demolish this tradition? as an act of preventing sins (as i am pretty sure that what they did is obviously violating my religion's law).
or should we just stare into space, joining them by putting up a plastic smile too?
